Dear Shona
I recently visited the Eumundi Market and had
the pleasure of meeting you and purchasing I Wish My Mother Was
An Octopus I raced home that night and very excitedly read our new
treasure with my 2 & 5 year old girls. With in minutes I was
crying hysterically, unable to stop.....its ok, this is a
good thing.
I would like to sincerely thank you for putting
into words what very mother feels. My husband and I are both shift
workers and of late I have been overwhelmed with the demands put
on my time. I found it such an amazing comfort to SEE that all mothers
go through the same struggles. (My daughter pointed out that really
the Octopus needed 9 tentacles - one for the Daddy because Mummy's
do lots for Daddy's too.)
We are now planning a trip back to the Markets
in hope that you will be there. I would dearly love to get a signed
copy for my best friend Kath who has recently moved her two young
boys Lachlan and Ashley to Canada where she is working as Midwife
in Vancouver. I know your book will do for her what it has done
for me! She is really feeling the pinch away from the support of
friends and family.
Once again, Shona thankyou for sharing not only
your book with us but also your journey to the creation of the book.
Every mother in Australia should have this book and I have been
telling every mother I know to get a copy.
Kindest regards
Kim Anderson
